About OUR Founders

Zia is a junior at Oakland Technical High School in Oakland, California, who has a strong passion for science, particularly biology and chemistry. She finds great joy in exploring the intricacies of the natural world. Zia's love for sports is evident through her involvement in field hockey for three years. Currently, she is playing center for her Co-ed ice hockey team for the second season, showcasing her dedication and commitment to the sport.
Beyond the classroom and sports, Zia enjoys spending time outdoors. She appreciates the beauty of nature and all the adventures it offers. Her involvement in the scouts troop allows her to engage in various activities that further fuel her love for the outdoors.
With her love for the outdoors and sports, she is reminded of the importance of good air quality, maintaining a strong physical appearance, and nurturing her mental health. Spending time in nature allows her to breathe in fresh air, free from the pollutants that can harm her body and mind. Engaging in physical activities not only keeps her physically fit but also releases endorphins, boosting her mood and promoting mental well-being. The connection between her passion for outdoor pursuits, clean air, physical strength, and mental resilience inspires her to advocate for environmental conservation and take steps towards creating a healthier world for herself and others.

Abby is a junior at Head-Royce School in Oakland, California. She enjoys delving into different cultures and sub-cultures to find patterns and behaviors. Being motivated by a deep-seated curiosity to explore new subjects,  she thrives on the excitement of discovery. Abby loves to approach challenges as puzzles in life that are solvable as opposed to seeing the issues as problems. 

Outside of the classroom, Abby enjoys playing competitive field hockey and baking cookies for her family.
